- This position is the District Forester for the Forestry Division in Capitan, New Mexico with the Energy Minerals and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD). This position is responsible for wild land fire suppression, and providing technical assistance to private landowners and communities at risk to wildfire within southeastern New Mexico. The District is comprised of 8,591,874 acres of non-federal and non-municipal lands in Otero, Lincoln, Chaves, De Baca, Roosevelt, Lea and Eddy counties. This position requires knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, legal agreements and policies and procedures that guides in decision making and program implementation in the field. The position supervises the implementation of all forestry programs to include the Smokey Bear Historical Park, fire management, forest and watershed health management, timber harvesting regulations, service forestry and all administrative activities on the district. This position is also responsible for maintaining compliance with department and division policies, state procurement code, contract management and federal codes relating to the delivery of federal programs.

- The New Mexico Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD), Forestry Division (Division) is requesting proposals for the planning and implementation of hazardous fuels mitigation projects that will reduce the fire threat in Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) areas in New Mexico. Funding will be awarded through a competitive process administered by the Western Wildland Fire Protection Committee (WWFPC), with emphasis on hazardous fuel reduction, information and education and community and homeowner action. - Forest Guild - RFP - Seeking Qualified Type II Burn Boss for Sep/Oct
- The Forest Stewards Guild is seeking an insured and qualified burn boss type two (RXB2) for up to three mobilizations. The contractor will organize and lead a burn crew to implement up to three burns in September and October 2016. Contractor will work as part of a team with Forest Stewards Guild, local land managers and owners, and local volunteer and hired resources. The Forest Stewards Guild is coordinating burn permits, burn equipment, and firefighters from state, local, and NGOs. The Forest Stewards Guild is now accepting bids for three burns scheduled in September and October. Bids will be considered for one, two, or all three burns. Founded by Craig Barrett, former Chairman and CEO of Intel Corporation and long-time Board Member of the NFF, the Challenge encourages and rewards innovative market-based solutions to natural resource issues affecting National Forests and Grasslands and hopes to cultivate a new generation of entrepreneurial natural resource and business leaders. The objectives of the Barrett Foundation Business Concept Challenge are: • To develop and launch market-based solutions that satisfy multiple goals of forest health, sustainable use, and economic development, including job creation. • To stimulate creative thinking to address problems and identify opportunities that benefit the National Forests and Grasslands. • To encourage the design and development of interdisciplinary approaches to address complex natural resource challenges. The Barrett Foundation Business Concept Challenge offers a $75,000 cash award to the winning submission and a $25,000 cash award to the first runner-up. - RFP: New Mexico Statewide Wood Energy Enterprise Team (SWEET)
- The New Mexico Forest Industry Association (NMFIA) is seeking proposals to develop wood energy projects in cluster regions of the state. The focal areas include: Rio Grande Water Fund (RGWF) area (Rio Grande, Rio Chama and their forested tributaries and headwaters), Chama area (embedded within RGWF), Southcentral NM, the Gila and A/S national forests cross jurisdictional area, and other potential opportunity areas within New Mexico. Funding will be awarded through a competitive process administered by NM SWEET. NMFIA plans to award multiple contracts as a result of this Request for Proposals (RFP). NMFIA has approximately $91,000 currently available for this request.

- This website is an interagency effort by federal and state agencies in New Mexico to provide timely, accurate fire and restriction information for the entire state. The agencies that support this site are National Park Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Indian Affairs, State of New Mexico, Forest Service, and Bureau of Land Management. This site will be updated as often as new information is available from the Southwest Coordination Center, individual forests, national parks, state lands, tribal ands and BLM offices. Our aim is to provide one website where the best available information and links related to fire and restrictions can be accessed.
