The AWRA Conference, titled "Healthy Forests = Healthy Waters", is accepting abstracts until FEBRUARY 8, 2013. The conference itself will be held June 27-28, 2013. The conference sessions will be relevant to water managers, aquatic biologists/ecologists, planners, engineers, forestland managers, economists, consultants, water purveyors and industrial users of water.

For the past two years, the AridLID Workshops held in Albuquerque, New Mexico have built a growing discussion and exposition of Green Infrastructure (GI) and Low Impact Development (LID) practices that are appropriate to the unique climates of the southwestern U.S. In 2012, we are holding the conference in Tucson, Arizona, with the twin goals of sharing best practices and building professional networks across a wider swath of the region, and of developing a clearer Southwestern vision and voice in the growing national discussion on GI/LID. We are now soliciting proposals for speakers and posters.

This conference is an annual event to bring together teachers, and other educators from the Colorado Plateau Bioregion, to learn bioregionally focused, place-based, hands on, cross-curricular, outdoor education lessons. Please have your workshop fit within the title of the conference, including diverse cultural knowledge, content knowledge (wind/air, fire, earth, and water), teaching methods, and application of techniques.
