- This Document elaborates issues, projects, and strategies to deal with the changing environment of Western American forest land. . The 2008 Farm Bill set into motion a landmark endeavor for all U.S. states and Pacific Islands to complete assessments of the forests within their boundaries and to develop strategies to address identified threats and opportunities. This document states some of these findings up through 2013
- RFP for 2014 Urban and Community Forestry Challenge Cost-Share Grants
- The US Forest Service announces approximately $900,000 in grant funds will be awarded through the 2014 National Urban and Community Forestry Challenge Cost-Share Grant Program. Funds are to support national urban and community forestry projects on non-federal public land that have a national or widespread impact and application. Pre-proposals are due July 15, 2013. Full proposals (tentatively) due July 15, 2013.

- Description of actions taken in FY09 to implement the New Mexico State Forest and Watershed Health Plan
- New Mexico Forest Re-Leaf Grant Applications Now Being Accepted
- New Mexico schools, universities, local, state, federal and tribal entities are encouraged to submit proposals for grant funding to plant trees. The Forest Re-Leaf Program can provide up to $6,000 for each tree planting project. The application deadline is August 21, 2013.

Duties Include - Initiates a State U&CF Program Strategic Plan, at least every five (5) years -Writes and administers the Professional Services Contract (PSA) for the statewide Volunteer Coordinator Contractor (currently Tree New Mexico) -Leads the New Mexico Urban Forest Council (NMUFC) -Manages the New Mexico State Big Tree Program; the New Mexico Forest Re-Leaf Program -Leads the Tree Planting Advisory Committee (TPAC) and the statewide Back yard Tree Farm Program -Represents and promotes the direction, philosophy, and strategic plan elements of the EMNRD Forestry Division.
