New Noxious Weed Reporting System
Easy-to-use web-based tool now available for reporting sightings and sending alerts
A Noxious Weed Reporting System is now available in 11 Western States. The web-based, Missouri River Watershed Coalition-Early Detection and Distribution Mapping System (MRWC-EDDMapS), is fast, easy to use, and freely available to Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
The tool was developed by the Center for Invasive Species and Ecosystem Health at the University of Georgia and received support from the Montana Noxious Weed Trust Fund and the U.S. Forest Service. The system allows for reporting of new sightings of select invasive species, sends alerts to state weed coordinators and other users, and generates species distribution maps. States are encouraged to use this system, available at www.eddmaps.org/mrwc .
