Our speaker for the October 10, 2013 AWF meeting will be Eliza Kretzmann, Resilient Habitats Organizer for the Sierra Club. Eliza has many years of experience in environmental and restoration issues in New Mexico, having previously worked with Earthworks Institute and River Source, as well as serving as the Executive Director of the Railyard Park Stewards in Santa Fe.

Eliza’s talk will focus on the new planning rule for the Cibola Forest, which encompasses 1.6 million acres of magnificent land in New Mexico, and how members of the public can get involved in setting the agenda for how these lands are managed for many years to come.

Our monthly meetings feature programs with guest speakers on a variety of topics. Meetings are held at 7:30 pm on the second Thursday of every month (except July), at Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center, 501 Elizabeth SE, in Albuquerque. Refreshments are served, and visitors are always welcome to attend.
