Best management practices (BMPs) help you identify effective and realistic practices that can be integrated into any behavior. Whether you’re a gardener, landowner, forester, logger, natural resource professional, urban park manager, or outdoor enthusiast; the movement of invasive species is always a concern. A BMP can be as simple as cleaning your shoes or as complex as pressure washing your bulldozer. Regardless of your practice, the goal is always to minimize the spread of invasive species. Learn how to create BMPs that help identify and minimize the spread of invasive species.

Bernie Williams (Wisconsin DNR) will share her experience of developing state invasive plant BMPs. Brad Herrick and Judy Kingsbury (University of Wisconsin Arboretum) will discuss the Arboretum’s BMPs and working with volunteers to implement the practices.

The webinar is free and pre-registration is not required. Participants are encouraged to download Blackboard Collaborate at least one hour prior to the webinar. SAF and Conservation Planner CE credits are available. Additional details and to join the webinar go to: http://www.sustainableforestswebinars.net/webinars/invasive-plant-best-management-practices
