Acequia Hydrology Symposium

PURPOSE:  To report research results on hydrology of traditional acequia irrigation systems.  Presentations will address both technical and socio-cultural aspects of acequias along the Rio Grande.  The conference will include overviews, technical sessions, and an interactive panel discussion.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:  Community irrigators, extension agents, water policy specialists, hydrologists, legislators, public land and water managers, and the general public.

SPEAKERS:  Sam Fernald, New Mexico State University; Steve Guldan, New Mexico State University’s Alcalde Science Center; Michael Cox, Indiana University; Carlos Ochoa, New Mexico State University; Quita Ortiz, New Mexico Acequia Association; José Rivera,Univ ersity of New Mexico; Craig Roepke, Interstate Stream Commission; and, Yeliz Cevik, New Mexico State University.
