Join the Santa Fe Watershed Association and Craig Sponholtz of Dryland Solutions for a talk on watershed restoration and erosion management. Discover how a holistic approach to watershed restoration creates opportunities to improve one of our greatest potential assets in the city by returning flow to the river, restoring our relationship with the river, stabilizing and restoring the river corridor, taking advantage of the cities storm water to produce riparian vegetation, reconnect and restore wildlife habitat. Learn about some of the projects and approaches that have and can be used in various parts of the watershed, including at San Ysidro, and techniques that can be used on your own land.
Craig Sponholtz is an agro-ecologist specializing in dryland restoration. His company, Dryland Solutions, Inc. works throughout the southwest on public and private lands. Craig often teaches workshops offering a wide variety of techniques that foster beneficial relationships between people and the watersheds they live in. Find out more at www.drylandsolutions.com
The talk is partially funded by a grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. There is a $5.00 suggested donation and Santa Fe Watershed Association members are free.
The Nancy Rodriguez Community Center is located at #1 Prarie Dog Loop off County Road 62 between the Agua Fria Fire Station and La Familia Medical Center.
