The New Mexico Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD), Forestry Division (Division) is seeking applications (Applications) to address management of invasive plants on state, private, and public non-federal lands from Cooperative Weed Management Areas (CWMAs) where noxious weeds threaten forested acres. The New Mexico Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD), Forestry Division (Division) is requesting proposals for the planning and implementation of hazardous fuels mitigation projects that will reduce the fire threat in Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) areas in New Mexico. Funding will be awarded through a competitive process administered by the Western Wildland Fire Protection Committee (WWFPC), with emphasis on hazardous fuel reduction, information and education and community and homeowner action. The Division plans to award multiple contracts as a result of this Request for Proposals (RFP). RFP for On-The-Ground Surface Water Quality Improvement Projects issued 3/4/11 by NM Environment Department, Surface Water Quality Bureau, Watershed Protection Section. A portion of the §319(h) funding awarded to the New Mexico Environment Department in fiscal year 2012 will fund watershed-based initiatives that are most likely to measurably improve water quality in priority waters by 2015 and in the longer term.

RFP for Watershed-Based Planning Projects issued 3/4/11 by NM Environment Department, Surface Water Quality Bureau, Watershed Protection Section. A portion of the §319(h) funding awarded to the New Mexico Environment Department in fiscal year 2012 will fund stakeholder-driven initiatives to develop watershed-based plans which quantitatively describe sources of nonpoint source pollution, identify management measures to address pollutant loading, quantify the effects that implementation of those management measures would have, and accomplish other planning elements.

The US Forest Service announces approximately $900,000 in grant funds will be awarded through the 2014 National Urban and Community Forestry Challenge Cost-Share Grant Program. Funds are to support national urban and community forestry projects on non-federal public land that have a national or widespread impact and application. Pre-proposals are due July 15, 2013. Full proposals (tentatively) due July 15, 2013.

The Rio Grande Water Fund is announcing the 2018 RGWF Request for Proposals (RFP). The Rio Grande Water Fund is seeking proposal for three, potentially overlapping, categories: 1. Forest Restoration Treatments 2. Stream, Wetland, and Aquatic Restoration Projects 3. Capacity Building (New for 2018) The RFP is open to both public and private lands. There is no match required, but leveraged or matched funding is encouraged. With this RFP, we aim to build on the vast experience the RGWF partners have in planning and implementing restoration treatments in the focal areas of the RGWF, and we encourage all to apply. We also hope to attract new partners, including groups looking to develop new collaboratives, stand up fire and fuels crews, or build innovative tools to tackle tough problems.
