The New Mexico Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD), Forestry Division (Division) is issuing a Request for Applications for the implementation of the 2012 Western Wildland Urban Interface Grant program that will reduce the fire threat to New Mexico’s communities. Joint Fire Science Program has announced open Funding Opportunity Notices (FONs) for research. The FONs are open through November 13, 2015. The Joint Fire Science Program funds scientific research on wildland fires and distributes results to help policymakers, fire managers and practitioners make sound decisions.

New Mexico State Forestry is seeking applications for funding for hazardous fuels mitigation projects through the 2016 WUI Grant program. Soil and Water Conservation Districts should work with their local State Forestry District Office to develop their project proposals.
