ITEP Climate Change Adaptation Planning Course
This course provides an introduction to planning for climate change impacts, highlighting what some tribes in the region are doing. The course is intended for tribal environmental and natural resource professionals who expect to be involved in climate change adaptation planning. Since the course will focus on climate change impacts in the region, we especially encourage people from the region to attend. Others are welcome to attend but should realize that that there will be a focus on that region.

This course employs a variety of instructional methods including lectures, discussions, tribal case studies, and a field trip. Small-group activities will reinforce lecture content. Participants will complete a pre-course assignment prior to attending.
Participants will be asked to bring a laptop computer to use during the class, with Microsoft Office programs on it (Excel and Word)—participants will be expected to have a basic knowledge of how to use these programs.
Pre-requisite:
There are no pre-requisites. However, we recommend participants take ITEP’s Climate Change on Tribal Lands course or have equivalent training/experience before attending the Climate Change Adaptation Planning course.
Participant Eligibility:
This course is intended for tribal environmental and natural resource professionals working for federally recognized tribes.
Course Fees:
There are no registration fees for this course. ITEP will pay for lodging (room and taxes only) expenses and will reimburse per diem (at the rate established by Northern Arizona University) for up to 20 participants. Participants are responsible for their own transportation costs.
